RPS supported Econ in arranging all the access, isolations and supplied the Safety Critical staff and supporting the approval all our documentation with both Network Rail (NR) and TfL. The rolling stock had been in-situ for over 30 years and the Contractor’s methodology for removal was adopted and proved very successful on implementation with the project being safely delivered ahead of schedule. On completion of the project, RPS received a “Team Performance” award for their safety innovations and excellent collaborative relationships established and maintained with the project and client teams.”

“RPS supplied Safety Critical and Possession Management Staff to Amaro for over twelve months during the Thameslink Resilience Project across the LNE and East Midlands Route. The scheme included upgrading 154 signal heads to LED, renewing 34 point ends, converting multiple Reed Track Circuits, and renewing over 500 FDM modules on the Moorgate Branch.

RPS were professional throughout and provided highly skilled, experienced staff with excellent route knowledge. Their communication was outstanding, and I would highly recommend RPS for any project requiring Safety Critical or Possession Management support.”

“Just wanted to send a quick email in appreciation for your staff and their professionalism, especially Phil Traynor / Martin Godwin / Pat Clarke. These guys over the Christmas blockade, as well as going into the follow-up works this week, have worked exceptional hard with multiple train movements and multiple different complexities on site, which has not phase them at all and taking changes in a professional and skilled manner. They have really gone above and beyond at times and easy to communicate with which as you are aware is the is half the battle and makes the site run softer. Thank you and please pass on to your team.”

RPS provided professional and faultless support to Taziker during the Anglia Year 5 timber renewals and follow-on works. Any initial concerns around compliance and staff competence were quickly addressed through proactive engagement and thorough verification of Safe Work Packs. The safety-critical operatives demonstrated strong local knowledge, diligence, and a clear understanding of complex possession requirements. Communication with both site teams and the RPS office was consistently prompt and reliable, allowing effective forward planning and timely submissions to Network Rail. RPS also supported short-notice, complex junction possessions, enabling worksites to be established efficiently and managed safely. Positive feedback was received from Network Rail and TfL on the delivery of these works.

01
What information do you need from us to start planning?

We typically require basic project details, proposed work dates, locations, scope of work, access requirements and any existing possession or programme information. Once received, we handle all planning, submissions and coordination.

02
How early should we request possessions, isolations or line blockages?

We recommend engaging as early as possible to secure access and avoid conflicts. For major works, long-term planning is ideal, but we also support short-notice and emergency requirements.

03
Can you support projects that already have planning in progress?

Yes. We can join projects at any stage—whether you need additional planning capacity, help clearing backlogs, or support resolving conflicts within PPS, GZAC or access arrangements.

04
Do you provide safety-critical staff as well as planning support?

Yes. We supply fully competent ES / Level A, COSS, Points Operators, LXAs, MC/CC, Site Wardens, and other safety-critical personnel, allowing you to streamline planning and delivery under one provider.

05
Can you manage short-notice or emergency works?

Absolutely. We regularly handle last-minute access requests, emergency isolations and reactive planning. Our team works quickly with Network Rail and operational partners to secure safe, compliant access as efficiently as possible.
